  • I almost shed a tear listening to him and as it almost came out I fought it and it was gone... I didn't realize just how true what he said at the start was until I was later reflecting on what I heard. As I reflected I thought back and realized this was a trained reflex when I did it I was alone there was no reason to mask how I felt except to hide the truth from myself. Respect to this man for overcoming that and speaking freely, Peace

  • I love this. He was honest without being insulting or demeaning the value of his own sex. Profound.

  • This poem influences how I think heavily

  • Garbage

  • The truth has been spoken, enough said!

  • WOW! this is so amazing. most inspirational, eye opening one i've ever heard.

  • @embrya26 It is true that throughout most of history the worlds power structures have been held by men. This is simply because until the age of cultural enlightment (which I feel is a time from the 1980's on) the world has been a predominantly patriarchal society. With a few exceptions. To say that men have wielded this power any more or less brutally than women, I feel, is an unjust generalisation. There have been brutal as well as great leaders, male and female.

  • @blutsturmer I do apologize for my misinterpretation of your words. Tone and inflection are lost in posts such as these. Power and influence are what construct and solemnize (sometimes loudly but more often silently) the worlds ills and you cannot deny that both have been wielded most often by men. I don't make that statement to editorialize because it is steeped in fact. If the Zedongs and Dadas of the world had been women then I would reverse my position in a heart beat.

  • @embrya26 I did not deride you or speak to you in a condescending tone. If you feel that way it is how you read it. If I felt you were inferior, I would not even engage you. Your comparisons, of course can make that case. However, the atrocities of women are only made minimal by the lack of major female leaders throughout history. When women have been in charge they were just as, if not more, brutal than men. The misandry is in your portrayal of men as the purveyors of all the worlds ills.

  • @blutsturmer How does asking you a question make me someone who dislikes/hates men? Anyway, women are not exempt from cruelty but statistically and historically speaking their influence, power and atrocities over and towards humanity have been modest when shown next to that of men. I chose to engage with you because I felt you might be intelligent and I don't think I'm wrong so in terms of the debate let's leave derision and condescension aside and rely on knowledge and facts.

  • every boyfriend sitting in there was like "dude shut the fuck you making me look bad" No but seriously that was the truth right there
