  • What will happen when both TEP60 are written-off? Is LG planning to find some replacement for them? And for old M62K's too?

Isn't it wiser to modernize TEP60 with Kolomna diesels (and other newer hardware) instead of buying new locos from abroad?

  • @sc1ffyp Probobly will be out of service and scraped. LG is planning to rent some TEP70s from LDz, but I dont know really. M62Ks can handle with transit trains, because they are not that long, 8-12 cars every day, in summer up to 16. So, I think they will be in passenger service like and now.

  • Nice ride, nice atmosphere but I prefer the summer;)

  • @kriupis understood :)

I hope your M62K's are serviced well enough in order to withstand such a workload.

And such a silly question: what power do they have? 2000 or 3000 hp? (I'm confused)

  • @sc1ffyp At Jiesia 40km/h because there this train goes through two yellow signals and the top yellow is blinking. Signal shows that train will pass a branch. Here (in this video) he just passed Jiesia and accelerates. But ofcorse, its heavy for M62K anyway, the train was late about 10-20 minutes... because of 19 cars. LG has only 4 TEP70, 4 TEP70BS and 2 TEP60 now, its not enough to operate all fast trains in Lithuania. Thats why our M62Ks are often in use for transit trains.

  • @1979Ltu is this route awaiting repair works? Anyway, if LG wants their M62K's to remain operating, they have either to use more of them to pull such a consist of 19 cars, or to lower the amount of cars themselves. Second option is, or course, out of LG control.

  • @sc1ffyp Этот поезд тоже едит через територии 2 государст-Литвы(видео)и Белорусии.

  • @sc1ffyp speed limit Jiesia 40km/h

  • @vitska ну так поезд же соединяет областной центр с Москвой. Вот и ездит много народу, в отличие от международных поездов, где всякие визовые ограничения и стоимость билетов снижают поток пассажиров.

  • That's incredible. 2000HP loco pulling 19 carriages! The low speed doesn't surprise me!
