Obama's Doublethink

President Obama delivered a nationally televised address from the United States Military Academy at West Point on December 1, 2009. He announced an order to deploy 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan.

In this clip, President Obama demonstrates an example of doublethink by stating that an election in Afghanistan marred by fraud produced a government consistent with the country's laws and Constitution.

Obama: "In Afghanistan, we and our allies prevented the Taliban from stopping a presidential election. And although it was marred by fraud, that election produced a government that is consistent with Afghanistan's laws and Constitution."
