Construction of a charging station for electric cars from a 1950's vintage Texaco Fire-Chief gas station pump. Charge your EV in style AND get free steak knife set PLUS S&H green stamps.

  • The 2001 version of J1772 was the AVCON plug. CARB had adopted it as the state's AV charging connector. But right after that the EV's started to be destroyed so it became a moot point.

  • Thanks Randy. I didn't want to confuse the issue with two J1772s (although SAE doesn't seem to mind) and I could not remember if it was SAE 1999-J1772 or SAE 2001-J1772.

While earlier production cars do still use AVCON, it is odd that none of the new entries (Tesla, Mini) have selected it, since there ARE some public charge stations out there with AVCON connectors. Our new federal building has four stations with AVCON connectors for example - just installed in the last few months.

  • Jack, what is the name of this song?

  • Love the music, it sounds so uplifting!

  • Magnetic Generator.

  • @heartlessvietboy Are you referring to induction charging?

  • Do not rush installing charging units !! I think we can build an electric car that charges itself while you drive. There is a patent !!

  • That is great stuff Jack.

    Good video and very clever.
