a quick run though some of the game levels. while Im giving the solution to most of the tricks, this ride is not as enjoyable as fiddling around. Thats why , in the middle of it, I decided to just die.
I like the style, I'm cool with both shaders and 4 types of textures, or mono-colored vector/retro look, as long as it is consistent :)
I like your drawings too (A lot)
What I don't like is controls, first of all, as mentioned in some other comment, it seems that at least on my machine, movement is too fast. The same is true for turn speed for me, also I can't feel well without strafing controls :)
Btw: svnversion crashes at 2:38 in video (resource not found)
Speaking of consistency, I did some recent tests with texture mapping and gourad shading, but it simply didnt look right. Maybe I should stick with flat shading as a matter of style...
On the controls, I tried fixing it, but my machine is not very fast, so it felt ok to me. Maybe I will try thinking harder on the issue and maybe try a few tests for you.
Also, you could try using a joystick. It was surprisingly good.
The idea of the game is to be "playable" on a mobile device, so if you check out the movies in my channel, you will se how it was actually meant to be played (but a good joypad like the X360 is quite cool too).
I forgot to say the good things!

The basic rule is to use dt (delta time) does your game do that?
I'm of the Half-Life/Unreal Tournament generation, so perhaps I'm just not used to the speed of Doom :)
I will try a joystick (xbox360 gamepad is what I have)

tried that, but maybe I missed something.

You're loosing some great gems from pre-1995. ;-)
