I'm 41 and I remember watching reruns as a kid.

Way to project that twenty-first century sensibility onto a 60 year-old kid's TV show and assume some sort of high moral ground. Guess what? The children who grew up loving that old-fashioned racist claptrap have moved on and appreciate old TV shows like "The Lone Ranger" as artifacts of a less enlightened age. Anyone who thinks otherwise deserves to taken as seriously as the people who regard old TV shows as accurate depictions of history.
