Israel PM 'apologises' for flotilla incident

Israel Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has called Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to apologise over the Mavi Marmara raid in 2010.

The raid by Israeli forces on a Gaza-bound aid ship in 2010 killed nine Turkish citizens.

The White House says president Obama has congratulated Netanyahu over the call, in which he apologised for quote "operational mistakes".

Al Jazeera's Anita McNaught reports from Cairo.
