@dizablah Gloves are only a recent introduction to the medical field, they were never really considered for general use besides surgery before 30 years ago (this video looks like 1970).

Only after our recent increased understanding of infective diseases that gloves have been used extensively in most medical settings.

Side note: this is also the reason for a massive increase in latex allergic reactions around the world in patients and health professionals
