a synesthetic experience in to the light of the moon
ABSTRACT
_movement is percevaible only when who observes and what is observed are under different conditions.
_therefore, to break a static condition it is necessary to stop when enviroment move, and to move when environment stops.
_what really worth is not what we see and what we hear, but what is in the spaces between.

it belongs to a wider research on the perceptive ways _as happened for other analogous works, the results are proposed to the public using the means and the form of the audio-visual performance
_in 2oo8_A MOON LIGHT ODISSEY the attention is focused in a particular way to the concepts of movement and stillness _in sense both physical how metaphoric_
and to their characteristic aspect of relativity deriving from the relationship created between observed and observant.
_the space, always different and subjective, created by the interaction of these two elements, it is the specific object of experimentation in this circle of the research
_the performance is addressed to a reduction of the sensorial splitting up for an induction in the public of an integrated synesthetic perception
_since the studies of Sir. Francis Galton in 1883, the neurological condition of the synesthesia is described as a responding to a stimulus of one sense modality with sensations which belong to another sense modality
_today that the researches of Casagrande and Heyrman, have statistically codified the percentages of interaction of every sense with the other senses, synesthesia can be considered a natural form of virtual reality
CONCEPT
the idea of 2oo8_A MOON LIGHT ODISSEY have been developed starting from a series of images,realized interacting with the lunar light, from the photographer ripley8 (Machina Amniotica)
_through an editing process the images have been transformed from static to dynamics
constituting the main video track of the performance
_the audio tracks are spacialized in real time with a dolby surround 5.1 diffusion
_ each one of the audio sources competes to produce a series of sonorous sculptures constantly in transformation in which the public is dipped through a three-dimensional auditive perception
_the musical composition contains both samplings and generation of synthesis sounds and it develops in a continuous process of de-contextualization and re-contextualization
_this modality _between memory and oblivion_ it is used as coadjutant
to the production of subjective free associations
_another component present inside the soundtrack of the performance,
it is the use of the binaural waves (BBF Binaural Beat Frequencies)
_the binaural waves are produced contemporarily spreading two identical acoustic frequencies
to which is applied a difference of phase between the left and the right audio channels_this difference of phase induces the brain to produce a third frequency called "brainwave" _absolutely subjective_ that is the resultant one of a mediation between the two sonorous impulses
_in 2oo8_A MOON LIGHT ODISSEY all the used elements compete to the induction of a synesthetic perception _unique and individual_ for each person of the public
