This bird is part of a flock of about 1000 Amazon parrots living near Santa Ana in the Los Angeles basin - fantastically beautiful birds living among millions of people, each largely oblivious to the other and thereby peacefully coexisting. • I believe feral parrots in California are not only beautiful in sight but as an introduced species,They pose no negative impact on native species, are happier than one can imagine being free. Unfortunately, There are "nesters"( people who raid the nests for chicks and sell them online). I actually witnessed a tree in Pasadena being climbed while driving through for this purpose. It eventually wipes them out. I am all for prohibiting sales of introduced established birds within states.

  • I see them in Hollywood all the time

  • my son recently saw this flock while he was at work in the area. he said they were awesome but LOUD! He thought our three at home were bad in the morning #LOL

  • Yeah well, move to LA. In hollywood especially the morning, they're as loud as the many sirens screaming through the city streets.

    But my parakeets love them.

  • awesome!!!! I love my lilac crowned... I just wish I could see that many at once
