  • what theme you using?

  • ShapeShifter .. One from the Theme

  • "Thats why you have 64x, and 32x"

I'm not talking about transition from intel, AMD 32 and 64bit.

Both are same may be performance bit difference.

Now Apple has 4 version to support. PowerPC 32 bit, PowerPC 64, Intel 32 bit, Intel 64 bit. with the same OS.

Just because IBM couldn't deliver. Apple apps are universal binaries designed by Apple to work on both G5 and Intels and both 32 and 64 bit.

Now If intel or AMD not able to deliver faster chips and IBM or Motoral does it Apple will switch.

  • but mine is 10.5.2 and shapeshifter is not working on that/>>/?]

  • Thats why you have 64x, and 32x option when getting an OS. As we speak the transition is happening, more and more pc's are 64 bit... I don't see alot of people complaining, where is this massive transision you where talking about, jugdment day for all pc users?!?!? where is it?

The transision is smooth, and by 2010, most apps made for xp will be out dated, and all the new apps made for vista

2011 will be the major slide from Intel chips to Amd, atleast thats what I predict

  • "whole giant problem switching" - Continue

Apple hit with this problem when IBM not delivering a faster process which is cooler. And Mac OS X is so well designed to run on intel also. Single CD can run on both Processors. They switched to intels in 2 yrs including rewriting all apps and take full advantage of intels. Now Intel and AMD faces the same issue who will MS turn to due to no proper OS design problem. And, It will take a decade for transition to get back to 90% Market Share.

  • "whole giant problem switching processor"

If you see the history Bill just bought DOS from a guy for $50K and made deal with IBM PC and royalty software.Windows history its always been on architecture. If intel hit a problem developing chip with heat issue. AMD will lead but the architecture limits where mobile processor can't go any further what is the situation. All OS has to rewritten for new processor by different company and all apps need to rewritten. All XP apps will be useless.

  • 32bit-64bit was and still is a smooth transition for pc, I don't know where you got this whole giant problem switching processor thing going on...

Quit talking about Vista, its the past, In the Windows Os World Vista is like the slow older brother to Windows 7, there I said it.

Windows 7 is like 1000x better than Vista.

  • Apple worked closely and worked with Motorola to develop chip. Now Cisco routers still user powerpc chips i.e risc based.

Mac enjoyed the better and faster processors till it switch to intel. Its not practical for Laptop with Show horn a Liquid coolant chip.

Search youtube " Apple Toasted Commercial "

and "Apple Computer Ad - Think Different Snail"

  • Apple can switch 64 with G5. if it thinks it worth it will go for AMD. But the key is the most power is alway in the Mac Pro side.Though its intel or AMD. Its basically the IBM PC. Due to less market share and more control on there product. They can easily switch and get the best. And Right now its Intel and AMD. In technology world there is limitation and new invention on microprocessor.Apple will take advantage. Vista already struggling with its position. Can't think of new technology now.
