  • @flipteezy I do not believe Dave is anti Japanese, I just think he believes we (Americans) should show the same loyalty to our country that the Japanese and many other countries do. As a former Marine that lived in Japan for a year, I understand what he is talking about. They (Japanese) are very proud & loyal to their country and their products, Americans should also be proud and support their products and people the same.

  • The camera man whistles as he breathes. lol, anyways nice videos

  • I've found my Snow and Nealley axe is equal in quality and much less weight on the wallet. Their made in Maine. Check them out.

  • @l3054 Agreed, I think it was more about the material used not the maker. AUS 8 is what the "regular" SRK is now being produced with. I bought the San Mai III version and it is a great knife. It is not even close to the same price point as the AUS 8 version. If dave had stated "the SRK is a great knife", some people would blindly purchase the AUS 8 version and then be angry that he wasn't clear about the knife material. Again, my post was just my opinion.

  • @digdug529 i think its funny cause japanese are known for making high quality knives

  • Chinese stuff is crap I bought a hatchet like in old times damn thing I chopped some hard wood and it broke a piece out of blade, it was cast iron not cast steel that what you get for buying cheap crap from China.

  • @digdug529 well said.

  • @TheRaellz its the greed indeed..

  • @digdug529 Well, I also think he's concerned with quality control. I've come across foreign products that were heads above the rest, but then again almost a third of the stuff I buy from Japan and China I have to get refunds on or have another sent out to replace it. That includes knives, radios and the like.

  • What the hell is that awful sound? The cameraman breathing? That sounds disgusting and detracted from the entire video.

  • @chromakey84 actually that's money doing what money does. 60 years ago here in the states we'd make things and push it to the limit to make everything better. now people catch on that there's no since in spending a lot of money to make a product to sell for a decent price when it will last for several years if not a lifetime. now it's all about making the cheapest item you can make and selling it at the highest price.

it's not about a country, it's about greed and that's world wide

  • @praharin My statement was purely my opinion. To often people tend to automatically assume the worst. I would not purchase the replacement version because it was made of AUS 8 stainless steel and is not as good as the carbon version. (again my opinion) That is why I purchased the San Mai III version of the SRK and it is a very good product. If Dave just said "I really like the SRK" then a lot of people would have blindly purchased the AUS 8 version assuming it was the same quality.
