Romance novelist ArLynn Presser says she was terrified to leave her home and had panic attacks just thinking about it for nearly 30 years.

So why did the 51-one-year-old from Chicago commit to meeting 292 of her 325 friends on Facebook last year, who live all over the world?

"I started to realize that I was spending a lot of time in my home, and that I was becoming kind of isolated, and at the same time, I was able to tell myself I had a great, vibrant social life because I have 325 friends ... and suddenly, I realized, 'wait a minute, who are all these people, and what kind of relationship do I really have with them,'" she told HLN's Dr. Drew Thursday night.

Presser is grateful that she now has more of a genuine relationship with her online friends.
