1993 Miata Starting Issues!

Why won't my Miata start like it should? Listen closely and you'll hear the spit and sputter and slight backfire. Then like magic it decides to start and run like a champ! Sometimes this can take up to 10 minutes. I'm starting to think the temp outside has something to do with it. There is a slight delay between the sound and video,Sorry! If you think you know whats going on with it please let me know!

have a 93 miata also i have a click issue without the firing. But yours sounds like a sparkplug issue. Check your spark plugs and see if oil is getting on the tip of it. Might be a valve cover gasket.

Check your coolant temp sender going to the computer.

I also had the same problem. I changed out the coil and the problem was cured. I have also heard the starter relay burns out as well. Good Luck!
