Hysteroscopic morcellation is the removal of any filling defect, generally a endometrial polyp or submucosal fibroid from the cavity of the uterus by non-electrical means thus causing minimal to no damage to surrounding tissue. It is state-of-the-art technology and in Dr. Jay S. Nemiro's opinion, no hysteroscopy should be done without the ability to do morcellation. Morcellation allows Jay S. Nemiro, M.D. to remove sometimes very large endometrial polyps and/or submucosal uterine fibroids from the uterine cavity that otherwise could not be removed other than with an open procedure. The surgery is done as an out-patient and the patient can come home in an hour without any restrictions. To read more about this procedure please visit our web site at www.acfs2000.com and click on diagnostic hysteroscopy under surgery services.
