@OMATICH Not true. The individual silver halide molecules within a crystal structure in chemical photography are either activated or unactivated - there is no in-between. Averaging activated vs. unactivated sites in a small area results in colors and tones - and since there are a finite number of silver halide molecules, there is a finite color gradation and a finite resolution.
It's really just a different way of doing the same. Don't get me started on Transane... And by the way, I shoot film.
-
@Transane he actually has a point, but there is more to film than the grain. how about the infinite colour gradation vs. 255 in jpeg or like 5000 in raw.
-
each cut is about 1 second, 1 second 25 frames or 30, so 1 second is about 1 roll
nothing special is added to the camera, just regular back :)
great video!

Freaking awesome!!! Canon sucks!

In my opinion the nikon F5 is handles and shoots much better than any of the current nikon digitals. And you can get one at a great price. I have two, one I bought in mint condition for $500 a few years ago, the other one I bought in very good condition for $250 last year. I enjoy using film so much more than digital too.

Thank you Nikon for the best photographic tools. May you go down in histroy listed next to Leica. They both deserve it.
-
@mikenyesi123 wow, you must be a real pro! what do you have, one hour of knowledge behind that comment?
Film is still king in the photographic world, digital just comes out on "top" time and time again because its more CONVENIENT. Film is faster, lacks noise, sharper, greater dynamic range, the list goes on. 35mm film is considered an AMATEUR film, and even shots taken with a nikon F1 with a 50mm mounted will have greater quality then a Nikon D3X using the same lens. list goes on.

@trublu850 There was never a bulk-film back for the F5 - the Multi-Control Bulk-Film Back MF-24 for the F4 was the last one Nikon made.
-
@mikenyesi123 Depends, i shoot medium format film, then get it scan to around 40MP.
Try doing that with your P&S lol...
Very Cool!
