I didn't know the real Mary was never married, I thought the show was based on the book, but I guess it was loosely based with a few other elements added to it. I'm not too familiar with the LIttle House book series, and not sure how many was even written telling the Ingalls' lives. I saw in one book that said Laura was about 15, going for her teacher's exam, and became like a young teacher in some town 12 miles from home and just met Almanzo, not sure if they were courting.

@Darren50001 ...What are you talking about? The real Mary was never married, so Rose certainly couldn't have written a book about it. Mary lived with her parents in De Smet, SD, until their deaths and died a few years after Caroline.
