Leeds Met's British Universities and College Sport campaign continued, as the sporting action entered its sixth week.

The afternoon's rugby fixtures produced a dominant 30-6 scoreline against Hull for the Rugby League 1st team, with the Men's Rugby Union 1st and 3rd teams winning their matches as well.

In Football, the Men's 1st and 3rd teams scored victories over Lincoln and York, while all three Leeds Met Women's football teams won their fixtures.

The Men's Badminton 1st team enjoyed an 8-0 victory over Manchester, with the same scoreline achieved by the Women's Badminton 2nd team against Lancaster.

In Men's Hockey, the Men and Women's 1st teams emerged victorious during afternoon skirmishes against Newcastle and Manchester respectively. The Women's Hockey 4th team beat York St John 6-0.

Lacrosse produced wins for the Women's team as they notched up a 12-1 win against Sheffield Hallam, and for the men as they beat Durham. The Men's Squash 1st team defeated Durham 4-1 with the 2nd team winning a Yorkshire derby against Leeds. Victories was also recorded this afternoon by the Men's Tennis 1st and 2nd teams. The Women's Tennis 1st and 2nd teams also won their fixtures.

Both Women's Squash teams won at home against Manchester and Bradford.

Leeds Met also hosted the English College Football Association (ECFA) Men's North vs South match at Headingley Campus. The fixture saw the best 18 male students from the ECFA system in the North of England play the best 18 from the South in a final trial match to select the ECFA National team. The North proved the stronger of the two teams and recorded a 3-2 win.

Graham Potter, Football Coaching Manager, said: "We are obviously delighted to host this fixture and to support the ECFA as it provides us with the opportunity to showcase our facilities and football programme to the English College's students and staff.

"We are continually looking to advance our football programme here at Leeds Metropolitan University and we see the fixture and developing partnership with the English Colleges FA as a key contributor to making this happen."
