Koi Hatchlings

On the third day they started to hatch one by one.This would sometimes continue to the seventh day.On which i would remove the spawning media with the unhatch eggs.but sometimes i just leave it there to dissolve in the water naturally or be eaten by the fries...now this stage the hardest part is CONTROLLING YOURSELF from doing anything with the fries and avoid overfeeding it.DO NOT TRY to CHANGE the WATER unless it is really needed.Fries are very sensitive to changes it water chemistry.so leave them to grow,feed moderately to avoid raising the nitrates and ammonia in the water.watch out for natural predators, waterbugs, waterfleas and dragonfly nymphs. take them away from your pond they love to eat your fries.

what's the size of your kois?how old are they?if they're more than 2 years old then they are likely to breed if the conditions are right.as a basic females are usually plumpier,fatter and roundier than males.males are more elongated

what did you feed them first? mine is about to hatch.

Never feed them for the first three days...allow them to absorb there yolks.then days after feed them with VERY FINE BOILED EGG YOLK mix in water.pass the yolk through a fine cloth or stockings...what pass through it what you will feed them...good luck!...keep in touch

OMG you know what just happend. I was sleeping then we found my yaya (maid) shouting and screaming saying there is fish eggs fish eggs on the pond. And that means we bought a pregnant koi. Wich was the one that we just bought one day ago. How many days do koi eggs hatch?

greetings dhoncave. i started my small pond 2months ago.nakaka adik..gusto ko sana paturo sayo kung pano mag breed ng koi.my first few weeks,namamatayan ako ng koi coz di pa ko marunong.then i start researching on it. ngaun ok na.i learned about the ph and etc.. sana maturuan mo ako bro kung pano mag breed..thanks dhoncave.

@dhoncave in your other video, your koi spawned in a aquarium tank. Did you remove the spawning media immediately and transfer it to this tank? Did you put some methelane blue or something?

I feed them flakes, but some times they would eat little bugs and even smaller fish

@dhoncave mine is already three months old right now,, and there growing into wonderful koi fish ,,too bad only half of them survived
