  • If she was willing to move and walk around, it must not deeply be important to her to stay still for George... so why didn't she move elsewhere? She's a wonderful performer, without a doubt! This interpretation just struck me in an odd way...

  • @irishactingboy If you had seen the show, "Sunday in the Park with George," you'd know that the entire section of the song, in which she's moving about the stage, is an inner monologue, after which she resumes her pose for George. In the original production, Dot began the song standing in a "false front" prop dress, from which she emerged to move around during that part of the song.

  • Anyone else feel she's channelling Bernadette a bit in this performance?

  • @skywalk7 No.

  • That chick is not fucking around.

  • Kelly is a teacher at my school, and I've worked with her before. She does have a very powerful voice. We unfortunately don't have a musical theatre program though, so it's disappointing to have talented teachers and nothing to show for it.

  • She is absolutely fantastic!

  • all that matters is 5:30.

  • This woman should be playing Mama Rose. She has the belt for it. And the red dress!

  • loved her interpretation. great presence too.

  • this is a simply gorgeous song from sondheim and she has a fantastic voice with energy and presence and does not bore you but i'm not a fan or her acting in this piece it's a little too much for dot

  • Wow, "sighs"...that never even occurred to me. But think about it this way...this is the first song in the show, so it is establishing the story, including their relationship. I'm 99% certain she's referring to "size" in the wink-wink-nudge-nudge sense.
