I've painted a poster frame with phosphorescent (glow in the dark) paint which allows us to draw on the wall with a violet laser!
I used Krylon "glows" spray paint, but it took two cans to get appreciable (but still uneven) coverage. It also doesn't stick to anything but a clean base of primer or paint.
If you make your own you should use latex paint instead. It's a little more expensive but you'll get much better coverage.
