Does anyone else find i funny that there's so many people commenting on how they're still a great band and how just because they don't sound the same as their first album doesn't mean they suck (which I agree with, progression is good), but, hate to say this guys, who the fuck are you commenting to? I love how they're not trying to blow anyone away with the first song they release. A lot of bands put their eggs in one basket but they simply give you a little taste of what's to come, and I can assure you it's gonna be pretty fucking sick!

Regardless of whether one likes or does not like the song, I think it is commendable that Mastodon have done something distinctly different from some of their previous material, but remain undoubtedly Mastodon. It's uncommon to find a band nowadays that can maintain their 'identity' and yet change their sound noticeably from one album to the next.
