Take a romp through Super Mario 3 on the NES with Dave and Charles from 8-Bit Memoirs.

Finally managed to get Charles in on the action via Skype. We've still got a few bugs to work out, but at least we can get audio at this point. If anyone has any ideas how to wipe out that echo, feel free to drop me a note!

Anyway, enjoy the sloppy playthrough of SM3 on the NES!

  • Great play through! These videos were very interesting. You guys have earned your selfs another subscriber. :)

    (btw, BaconGames sent me)

  • Thanks for watching and of course subbing! Glad to hear that you're enjoying our videos, and it is funny in a way because, basically BaconGames sent me too (inspired me and Charles to do this), lol

  • The PS3 has dropped in price to $299 for a slim version which is just not as big and has a matte finish. I don't see myself wanting to play for LIVE and being predominantly a PC gamer, I think the PS3 is different enough and has stuff like MGS4 where I would like one.

I say good riddance to cartridges. I'm not a "it was better back then" guy. I honestly think its better today than it was before (also different but I think net better).

    Oh and great playthrough guys.

  • I have to say, I despise discs, especially the original x-box. F@#k you and your "Disc is dirty or damaged" messages Microsoft! Now that I have that out of my system, I don't really discriminate on the new stuff or the old stuff, I just know what I like.

Would like to experience the Wii, but I think that is about the length of it.

  • This was a fantastic playthough. Also, about the Wii, I can't really recommend one mainly because some titles are great but, the majority is really shovel ware. As for playing older game just download emulators, they make everything easier. I want a PS3 I've gotten bored of my Xbox :(

  • Thanks man, this playthrough was definitely one of my favorite so far!

Thanks for the advice, I do like emulators, but I am still a big fan of actually handling the old hardware. Something about the nostalgia involved just adds to the experience.

    Thanks again!

  • Princess: "Thank you Mario but our Princess is in another castle."

Mario: *Punch Jump on top of her punch punch puch* I am sick and tired of you toad

Princess: Wait I was just kidding

    Mario: Oh "Punch Punch Punch

  • Dude, you should definitely buy a Wii! You can play NES,SNES,N64,Sega Master System,Sega Genesis,Neo-Geo,Commodore 64,Turbografx-16,and Virtual Console Arcade games! Not to mention all your Gamecube games unlike PS3 and Xbox 360

  • Discs are not perfect by any means but I personally have had more trouble with getting cartridges working on an NES, Genesis, and N64, than a disc error.

I've had friends who have disc-read errors which sucks because then that might mean the whole console is a bust. If it fails on the PC, you just buy a new drive for like 40 bucks.

  • That is one of the main points of a Wii is the back catalog of not only NES and SNES games but also Genesis and Turbografx games.

Other than that and around 10-ish must have titles, that console is pretty bare.
