November 24, 2006 - Stephen Harper answers questions regarding his motion to recognize the Quebecois as "a nation in a united Canada".

"We often forget it was French-speaking Canadians that founded Canada, it was French-speaking Canadians who were the first people to call themselves Canadians, the first group of people who had a vision of a country from coast to coast.

This is an important opportunity to reconcile ourselves to that reality. It is important for national unity it forces the Bloc and the Parti Québécois to admit that what they are arguing for is not recognition or acceptance of Quebec far from it. It is simply a question of independence, of creating an independent country." - Stephen Harper

  • Fuck Quebec

  • @MrMusterdtiger91 I never said i wanted it to separate, I said I DIDN"T want it to separate because it doesn't need to separate. We can preserve Quebec culture without it needing to separate. Harper has done an admirable job pissing off the people Quebec by not taking their voices into account. He's only created more division and hostility between us and them I've never seen them so rattled before. Harper did not win the last election legally. He should be charged with election fraud.

  • @MrMusterdtiger91 There is such a thing as Quebec culture actually. Just like Alberta culture and BC culture. Ontario has a culture of its own, BC has a culture of its own, the Maritimes have a culture of their own, the territories have a completely different thing going on. Each segment of land in Canada has its own culture that inspires its own lifestyles and ways of life. I like Quebec culture and I want to see it preserved for symbolic reasons and because it promotes tourism.

  • @Freethinker12341 just to be clear there is no such thing as quebecois culture...quebec is and has always been part of Canada they dont need to be seperated nor do they understand the danger of doing so...its never gonna happen.not while theres a sane person like harper in control

  • Canadas never looked better....im impressed...were doing good

and that means something coming from me.

  • DEPORT ALL QUEBECOIS SEPERATISTS/NATIONALISTS/SOVEREIGNISTS BACK TO FRANCE WHERE THEY BELONG. QUEBECOIS ARE A PARASITICAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE BROUGHT NOTHING BUT DIVISION AND TENSION TO CANADA AND THE SOONER THEY ARE REMOVED FROM CANADA (QUEBEC INCLUDED) THE BETTER. NO MORE APPEASING THESE BADLY BEHAVED RETARDS AND IT IS TIME TO DECLARE MARTIAL LAW IN QUEBEC AND TIME TO SEND IN THE MILITARY TO CRUSH THESE ASSHOLES ONCE AND FOR ALL. STOP USING THE CARROT AND TIME TO USE THE STICK.

  • @Freethinker12341 I want Quebec to stay put and Harper is doing a a fine job, Canada's in good hands

  • @thebombsters we have to do what we can to preserve the Quebecois culture, because I have an endearing respect for it. You're practically a country of your own though already. Why separate?

  • @thebombsters Unfortunately, Quebec is a province in Canada, and probably my favourite one, simply because I have a lot of respect for European-based culture and European values, etc. As much as I want everyone to be free and stuff, Quebec separating would be bad for Canada as a whole. It would be bad for the majority of ppl. I don't blame you for wanting to separate especially with Harper in power. He has done a veyr good job pissing off and alienating the people of Quebec.

  • @kevin99291 wait, i'm not condoning what kevin said cuz it was ignorant, but how exactly does a language itself discriminate ?
