This nifty radio even gets Sat Signal in a Plane 30,000ft Up. Howard Stern can be heard Nation Wide, on the ground and in the Air.

  • Sirius have 3 satellites that fly in an "inclined elliptical geosynchronous orbit" - a figure-8 pattern w/ varying altitudes (15,000-29,000 MILES - still well above a commercial jet altitude of 6-8 Miles) topping out in Canada down thru the South Pacific to the Ant-Arctic before returning North thru S. America. You could probably get Sirius sattelite reception in Panama or Brazil, but it wouldn't be consistent thru the day.

  • @bigleagues i must of missed all of the satellites, since i got my 1st stiletto, i've been out of the country 5 times and never got reception, not even in the US Virgin Islands

  • Stilettos are not going to be a big seller anymore. Especially since you can now pull Sirius/XM through iPhones.

  • think about it dude! not every1 has an iphone or like at&t. Also, you cant compare the CD Quality of a Sat Radio to the 32bit sound of a 3G Network, only when using Wi-Fi you'll get good sound.. My SL2 also has WiFi

  • Hey I'm thinking of picking one of these up for a vacation- do you have to have and wear the "Antenna " headphones to go portable with these? Is your model a Stilleto 100?

    Thanks!!

  • This is the SL2 but honestly there isnt much off a difference other than the price. It get reception without the big earphones but it has to be clear and always pointing up unless you're somewhere that has repeaters.

  • @proedgebiker dude, you can get the app on any blackberry. android or iphone now, so it can be used cross networked, but, the thing is, you can't get every channel on the mobile app or the internet streaming plan. due to copyright issues.

besdies, they killed the stilletto after the merger in favor of XM's XMP3 since it can support the best of sirius...well, the way I see it? IT SUUUUCKS

    the xmp3 has horrible reception.

  • yes u can, and it works EXCELLENT!!

  • can you actually bring them on planes?

  • you have to put it up against the window and have the window shade hold it in place.
