In this guitar lesson, we'll learn how to transform your conventional jazz positions by adding an extra passing tone can really help your playing. This will allow you to play faster shred licks while keeping the jazzy feel given by the shapes described.
You can get the backing track (12 bar blues funk in G) on my website http://www.guitarplayback.com

  • Passing tones! they explain this in grade 6 - 8 theory. I'm glad you've introduce it to the public for chromatic :)

  • @satchrules101 Thanks!

  • @Wallimann I like your playing

  • I'm starting to hate chuck norris

  • Passing tones got me out of a lot of ruts when it came to improvised soloing in a live setting. I am grateful to them. That and the chromatic scale really have helped me to link different solo licks together in a seamless way that doesn't seem to apparent to the audience.

  • @Wallimann

This is called the Bepop major scale.
