Why Chris Thorndyke was in Sonic X

Here, I give my own explantion as to why the kid that everyone hates so much, was put in Sonic X in the first place.

I apologize in advance to everyone for snapping in my comment above. I just took the negativity towards Chris personally.  I identify with Chris on many levels. Chris was a rich kid without many friends who spent most of his time alone at home with all his toys. Then Sonic and friends came into his life and surrounded him with friendship and love for almost a year. Then he learns that they are leaving him and he snaps...What kid wouldn't?

Chris Thorndykle is nothing more than selfish, spotlight stealing Gary-Stu. They set him up as a rich, lonely kid with his parents always away. This would have worked if he DIDN’T have a supportive uncle, butler, maid and school friends. He didn’t want Sonic to go home because he wanted him all to himself, completely disregarding his family and friends who love and supported him.

He was an awful character.

Chris Thorndyke,a spoiled brat who doesn't have friends because he is rich and his parents are stupid,ever since Sonic arrived in his world he treats him like his hedgehog slave,saying that Sonic and friends are HIS and he DOES NOT let Sonic go to HIS world which means he just not want Sonic to be his friend...but maybe be frozen in time like a homo,but in Season 3,Chris WANTED to be with Sonic AGAIN,gay-ass,what's very funny in season 2,Tannaka did not let Amy help chris after his ownage!

Kakkerot86 yes I understand your points but most of the time he's selfish, gay, crys a lot, and gets in the way a lot and yes most kids like this series but for people who grow up with sonic in 1980s they hate cause the kid took tails role it's like sega just said lets get rid of tails and get a selfish to take his place and most sonic fans DO hate chris IDIOTS like you don't like sonic as much as we do so STOP!!!.

For me, I just hate human characters in franchises that are clearly established with animal characters. If Maria had a bigger role, I probably would have hated her too.
