I dont think its frightening. But it makes you conscious of a bigger movement which an individual can not control. Its the march of humanity in which we all take part. Its been going on for thousands of years en will go on long after we have died. It is maybe that overwhelming fact that may be perceived as frightening. But in the end we are all small pieces of this movement. It is us, but we cannot control it. A deep paradox in our (short) lives

profound work of art, as moving today as when it was made

I would say it is a collaboration of Glass, Reggio, and Fricke. But Philip Glass definitely has as much to say in this movie as the other two.

this film is very frightening, not because it shows some nasty or disgusting things but because it has a very specific ominous feel to it. It's as if something bad (or inevitable) is going to happen

This whole documentary gave me the reality check of how suffocating is to live on this planet.

that's why it is (officially...sort of...) called repititive/additive music. ;-)
hearing and seeing this for almost 3 hours on end on wide screen is kind of devastating... speaking out of experience, i saw all 3 movies in 1 week. defenitively needed some time to get things sorted out after that.
