So we joined over 300 000 fans in Cape Town on Saturday (yes, that's the biggest crowd ever in Fifa WC history). Met up with a bunch of friends for lunch at Mambo Jambo in Greemarket Square and then walked the fan walk to Greenpoint, at which point we made a b-line for the Paulaner Bräuhaus. Another hour long wait in the queue got us seats in the 2nd best place to watch a German game! If you were in Cape Town over the WC period and missed this walk then you really missed out, I've never seen Cape Town so packed and full of energy before. The 2km route was overflowing with people and took us over an hour to complete. Smiling faces, music from every bar and German flags everywhere, even a giant one on Signal Hill. The Clock Tower Precinct at the Waterfront became a glorified beer tent as bars were allowed to sell draught beer to the public, which made the long wait outside the Brauhaus quite enjoyable. Mix in some perfect, wind-free summer weather and it all comes together in a brilliant 4 - 0 win over Argentina. A day we'll never forget :)
