  • YARRRRRRRR!!

  • Intellectual property is a historical relic from feudal Europe when monarchs would declare monopolies to court favorites. If it didn't already exist, no one would think of creating it.

  • For those who say that without copyright there wouldn't be any people making music/games/movies, you are just wrong.

Take a look at the profit the indie developers made in the Humble Indie Bundle. The consumers didn't have to pay more than a cent, yet the average person payed 8 dollars. Why a lot of us don't want to pay for games is because most of it goes to totally unnecessary things such as advertisement.

"Look I understand what you are trying to say, I just simply think it is ridiculous to own an idea. It doesn't matter if I worked on it for a decade, just because I put time and money on something doesn't mean that I can own it, it has to be real first."

The concept of patents is to stop people from stealing or copying an idea AND THEN taking all the credit and passing it off as theirs.

"If it took you years to research something that could that easily be duplicated then you really haven't come up with something."

Rubbish. Not all new ideas while appealing, are totally immune or difficult against being copied. Your knowledge and experience are still lacking I'm afraid.

  • Now just legalize it in Canada

  • HAHAHA! SWEDEN RUUUULES!

  • YAR-HAR, FUCK WMG,

    WE ARE THE PIRATES!!

  • @sdbxnbbl91 Sorry for the late answer, but... The artist gets 7% of album sales. The record companies, which only WERE (not today) good for distributing the music, get 93%. Their service is marketing for the artist. Today, we have the internet. An artist can promote himself, quite successfully in fact, thanks to the internet. The artist can gain 100% of sales if he ignores the record companies. The record industry knows that they will soon be useless, and panic. Keywords: The library, printer.

  • Good artists movie-makers programmers and so

on will never go hungry. It's just harder for them

to become millioners. It's called progress and

    it cant be stopped.

Also note that 'making money from piracy' will

    always be illegal.
