DMS playing benefit for CWSO at Sentry Theatre in Stevens Point, Wi. Fantastic pianist and singer! Dan Mitchell, a promising artist in his early 20's, has been entertaining the people of Wisconsin since he began writing and performing in his early teens. Since then, Mitchell has received accolades on the national level for both his compositions and his soulful performances of them. His wind band composition, The Dawning of a Soul, was selected as the winner of the 6th annual ASCAP H. Robert Reynolds Composer's Competition and was performed in Carnegie Hall in May of 2005. Another of Mitchell's compositions, entitled Anything But Fall in Love, was State Finalist (Wisconsin) in the 2005 BMI John Lennon Songwriting Contest. In 2006, his song Second in Line was selected as the overall 2nd place winner in that same competition. Mitchell has also recently signed a publishing contract with Southern Music Company.
As a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and the International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE), Mitchell has been active in music education as well as performance/composition. He has given master classes and workshops, and has been a guest composer/clinician in four Wisconsin school districts. Mitchell has completed three commissioned pieces, and is currently finishing a fourth.

Great job dude! Seriously.
2 questions:
How many years of piano & (jazz)music classes?
How long did it take you to learn that from start to finish.

Hey Man You got the new orleans piano thing together pretty well. If you just sing with a little more confidence and try playing a little less of what you have transcribed and just let it go you are gonna be rocking it. Good luck.
