I know it probably sounds weird, but I'm a guy and I've always wanted to learn to sew using a machine. Just two days ago I finally bought a sewing machine! It's nothing fancy, mini sewing machine, just fifteen dollars from a discount store, but at least I can now start to sew. Your videos are very helpful, especially to a beginner like me, thank you. Now I just need to scrounge up fabric pieces to sew, scavenger time...

@irtamaki I have this machine. The needle that it came with broke when I was working with denim. I bought a thicker needle for tough fabrics and it works great.

my janome mini is not picking up the thread...I am using it for the 2nd time but i cant pick up the thread what is the problem pllzzzz helpppp...

You should always leave the pressure foot in the down position when not using because it stops the spring being under tension when not needed. You just put a piece of material under the foot to protect the feed dogs
