  • I'm about to do this Beer Can chicken....

I am wondering though, for the glaze at the end, can you use 2 tablespoons of beer from the ⅓ of beer that was thrown out...instead of Lager?

Does it have to be Lager and whats the difference?

  • You can try beer in the glaze if you want, would not be a bad idea. it doesn't have to be lager, that's just the type we use and works well. feel free to try any type of beer.

  • Thanks for the reply...

I tried this recipe using the lager this time (Stella Artois)...but I had to substitute the white vinegar for Balsamic vinegar as I had no white vinegar, and the hot sauce for a half tablespoon of chilli powder as I had no hot sauce,

My husband said it was "the best chicken he'd ever eaten in his life" :-)

I will definitely be making this chicken again, and I will try the glaze with the beer from the can, just to try it out.

Thanks so much! Big hit in our house!

  • Glad to hear you enjoyed it.

  • I make indoor beer can chicken all the time, but my biggest challenge is getting the beer can out. How do you do this?

  • @MiraclesDoHappenToMe Thanks a lot, I figured something like that but wasn´t sure

  • @cjhhausmann It was hot sauce

  • Can anyone tell me what the last ingredient of the glazing is?

I just don´t get it and that is all that is missing, and she says it´s last BUT NOT LEAST so it might be important?

  • Cooking an aluminum can with paint in a chicken seems like a risky idea. I wonder if the same flavor could be achieved by marinading the bird for 24 hrs.? My BBQ Sauce for Amateurs would be excellent on this. Thanks for a great video!

  • Can't wait to try this recipe out. This is the first I've heard of adding a glaze. Genius! I just drooled all over my keyboard.

  • Chicken looks great. I must say, Heather you are hot:)
