  • Hi there... I attempted to replace the digitizer on my own today. Needless to say, I struggled with the ribbon connectors in order to make the repair and may have damaged the connector for the LCD screen. What would be the best way to reconnect the flex cable to the motherboard at this point (if possible)? Also, does the LCD screen have to be functioning in order for the digitizer to work? The phone is functioning properly but I'm unable to respond to phone calls, etc.

  • @mehole86 If the LCD flex was damaged then the only way to get full functionality again would be to replace the LCD screen. The LCD does not have to function fully in order for the touch screen to work. If the touch function in not working, I would double check the connection to be sure it is fully in place on the motherboard.

  • Hi, I just had a crack on the screen of my HTC Evo View 4G and I was hoping you have a video posted for it as well. I'm not really sure if the HTC Evo View 4G Touch Screen Digitizer Replacement item on your website can fix/replace it. When I open my device (HTC Evo View 4G) the touch screen is not working, thus making my device unusable. Please help. Thank you.

  • @007avic If only the outer screen was damaged then the part listed on our site will resolve the issue. We do not currently have a take apart video for this tablet though.

  • @RepairsUniverse Ok. Thanks. Do you think it'll be almost the same process as the video above? And what type of screwdriver should I use? I'm about to buy the replacement from your website but I'm unsure of what to buy. I don't have to buy the plastic pry tool since it comes with it right?

    Thank you for your help.

  • @007avic HTC sticks to this basic format for many devices, however we have not had a chance to take apart a Evo View yet, so we are unsure the exact process. • @anissley88 That should not cause any issues. As long as the connections were put in solid, you will be fine.

  • @thedeepestword2000 The most likely cause would be a bad connection from the LCD screen. I would suggest checking this connection and the whole LCD flex cable to be sure it has not been ripped or damaged.

  • I replaced the broken screen of my htc evo and know it doest show nothing. I know the cel is working cuz it just turn on the four lights from below :/ I might broke something! any suggestions?
