@Cokiemonster112 I disagree with you there, shippies does get really good sometimes. Jump out at peaks and we've recorded people getting 1.2km rides from peaks right through sandslides to the end of the shippies.

Up the beach works to, I have't surfed bluff but I do surf Waipap ramp regularly. Picks up the swell 5x better than Ahaps.

@YoghurtPeople shippies is not that great anyways, you need to go around the reef a little. Where all the locals hang out. Maybe a bit further up the mile to, too the bluff. Always good there on a decent swell set.

@Cokiemonster112 Shippies hasn't had 3ft+ waves in about a year and a half. Some other waves very near to it are lining up though, they pick up the swell twice as good as shippies. We showed up at a spot that was 4ft sideshore and breaking well with shape and had no-one out for a while.

@ChocalateButtons Piha is stupidly dangerous compared to shippies, Ahaps goes nuts on a good day and wayyyyy less people that west aucks. Taupo bay in the first half of this vid is freaking intense when the swell gets in there.
