I cant wait to go fish in ireland, nice people, ice food, nice fish! Can you reccomend any good places or areas that are rich in fishing?

@kokosz33 go to a stocked lake for a few sessions get the feel of your rod, work on your strike, then move onto the river, you,ll know when you have it,and its there for life.theres a good lake in garyhill borris county carlow,20 euros dawn till dusk, great for learning to cast, dont expect to murder trout on the river right away, theyre sneaky little feckers,

Question, when ur using a lure do u also use a weight so as to cast out the lure because the lures them selves are to light to cast & if u do use a weight how far from the lure do u put it? i hope some one can answer my question as i would love to try lure fishing! thank...

@WOLFGANGER666 good Q, most lures r not weighted, its just the amount of thread and texture that is used that makes them heavier than a dry or wet fly, most of all no matter what fly you have on,, its the cast that executes the final product, this providing a good fly line or shooting head attached to the line!!

Get the boy hooked (no pun intended) to carry on the tradition. He did a good job of releasing the fish.

he did indeed, it must run in the family, im 36 now, started fly fishing when i was about 10, no better way to start than with a 8.5 ft hardy on a quiet irish river, me da showed me the ropes, and i'll pass it on..
