On a rough London estate the local youths think nothing of bullying an effeminate young African asylum-seeker and his mother. But the seemingly defenceless African carries secrets - the youths will soon discover who is the real soldier.
Directed by Rikki Beadle-Blair.
Souljah was created after Rikki applied for the film programme, Blank Slate. Now in its sixth year, applications are now being taken (up until November 24th) by Blank Slate who are looking to fund the creation of the best ideas for short films. The programme is part funded by the UK Film Council New Cinema Fund and Arts Council England.
To apply with a 10 minute short film idea budgeted at £4,000 - £15,000 go to www.b3media.net/digitalshorts
The full film is first class - I imagine YouTube cannot accommodate the full short film, so rather than show most but not all, only 2 minutes is shown here

This is a great short, but how come only part of it is here, and edited differently?
All the best,
