Windmill Excursion

Monday, 13 April 2009:

During my second week in Europe, my friend and I go for some sight-seeing in Amsterdam, taking a convenient bus out to the area near Artis Zoo. Here, at Fuenenkade 7, we find a real Dutch windmill. Known as de Gooyer or Fuenmolen, this windmill now houses Bierbrouwerij 't Ij, a brewery that still sells the traditional Dutch Ijmeer beer.

In this video, you'll see some of the bustling activity in the area around the windmill. This includes pedestrian traffic as well as cars, motorbikes and bicycles. Exterior shots of the windmill with my Swiss friend Heinz offering some video directing instructions and commentary are also included.

Brouwerij 't IJ is a micro-brewery located in a former bath house named Funen, next to the windmill.

This video was captured from the DV cassette using Pinnacle Movie Box+USB. The captured video was stabilized with DynaPel SteadyHand. The video was editied with Vegas 8. The credits were created with Windows Movie Maker.
