I have talked to picketers, i have read your unions site, and the support staff site, and the colleges site and the news, i am well informed on the situation and they are currently using the managers and staff who refused to strike to replace 10's or 100's of support staff depending on the college, and i believe given the lack of training, short notice etc... "there doin a dam fine job" and i guarantee during your college years you were not supporting an infirm dependent with multiple illnesses.
As a full time employee i have no choice but to be in the union, and the college was invited back to the table on Monday but said they aren't interested. All the news you get is what the college wants you to hear have you ever stopped and talked to one of us strikers and talked to us. The College seems to think they can run without us, using part-time staff, obviously if that were true you'd have your OSAP, you may have to get a job and work and go to college like i did...I worked my way thru.
@fastback73 (cont. 2) as pawns in your selfish political game, who gave you the right to play with peoples lives and then on the other hand claim to be doing this for them, i call bullshit on you, and your union sir
@fastback73 (cont.) if you want job security do what every other person on the planet has to, rise above the rest and outshine your fellow employees not join a union where value is decided by when you signed up. and you have no right to call me selfish or a waste because i am one of the many students who dont agree with you holding up bus routes and stopping day care without even a days notice in most cases. you want our support but you are playing with our education and attempting to use us ->
@fastback73 i know exactly whats going on, your union is using you as pawns and want you to strike because the more money you make the more money they make, and if they start replacing your union worker with contract workers and part time your union will cease to exist. unions at one point in time had a use, and that was the pre 20's when they could make you work under any condition, the college board has publicly stated that they will return to the table, just name the time and place
