Electric bicycle from the Netherlands. In Netherlands you are obligated to have registration plate, documents and insurance if your bicycle has got a (e)motor and gas handle. Pedelecs don't fall into this category because they are actuated only with pedaling. Electric bicycle with gas handle is simply treated as a light motorcycle. There are two types of light motorcycles: max. 25 km/h (snorfiets) and max. 45 km/h (bromfiets). With 25 km/h you are not obligated to use a helmet. At 45 km/h you must wear a helmet (police can give you a ticket if you don't wear a helmet). But ... I can say that in daily practice I have seen many times that people were using "ofically limited" 25 km/h but riding at 40-50 km/h without a helmet. You can do whatever you like - you just simply take the risk of getting a ticket if police controls you. Police in Netherlands treats e-bicycles (with gas handle) just like (e)scooters. There is no "handicap" for e-bicycles. You will get in Netherlands everytime a ticket if Police stops you and you don't have register plate/ documents/ insurance for your e-bicycle (with gas handle). Register plate costs 100 EUR (about 130$), insurance costs 30 EUR (about 40$) per 1 year.

20 km/h is for the sake of rules (would be nice if 25 km/h however). "Snorfiets" has to be under 25 km/h. "Bromfiets" has to be under 45 km/h and you must wear a helmet. If I tune up motor/ battery/ controller than I can go 60 km/h. But what for? This is handy thing for use in a town. This is not a solution for > 15 km ultra fast trips. I use it daily in town. In flat Netherlands with 36V 10 Ah battery this bike has ... 55 km range without touching the pedals!

Zeg jij dat 20A stroom gebrand motortje? Kut zooi setje! Ik weet niet precise maar ik denk dat Sachs gebruikt maximaal 10A stroom op hun Electra snorfietsen (ik zal binenkort even controleren). Batterij is 36V 10 Ah. Er zit een goedkoper (uit China) naafmotor in de voorwiel. Snorfiets van Sachs (die op video staat) is langzaam (hij rijdt maximaal 22 km/h). Ik vind 20 km/h zonder te trappen "beter" dan trapondersteuning. Deze Electra heb ik als gebruikte voor 1100 EUR gekocht.

motorpromo - dat is een goie voorbeeld. Dank je wel voor dit link! 2 jaren geleden heb ik een gebruikte Batavus Ego 3 gekocht (375 EUR). Batavus (jammer) gemaakt alleen versie met trapondersteuning. Het is vreemd dat grote merken zoals Gazelle, Batavus, maken alleen trapondersteuning versies van electrische fietsen. Er is ook interresant ding: er was periode in Nederland wanner trapondersteuning fiets moest kentteken hebben!

@MaciejDlugosz als je kijkt op motorpromo.nl daar hebben ze ook electrische fietsen voor rond de 500 euro

met knipperlicht en alles er op en er aan.

@MaciejDlugosz er zijn ook ombouw kits voor 370 euro die had ik ook maar die censor voor de trapas die paste niet dus had ik die gewoon weg gelaten en alleen op het gashandvat laten lopen. maargoed er liep dus 20 ampere door dat kleine motortje die ik had. dus toen was die doorgebrand. helaas maar voor die kit heb je geen kenteken nodig want die fiets is dan zogenaamd met trapondersteuning. maar dit kun je dus gewoon weglaten.

Ik vind gashendel heel praktisch. Jammer dat in Nederland alleen Sachs introduceert e-snorfietsen. Het is 685 EUR extra kosten om electrisch snorfiets zelf te registreren (GOEDKEURING, ECE reglement). Ik wil graag voor 685 EUR een goede motor en batterij kopen en niet registratie kosten betalen. Ik was gellukig - ik heb deze snorfiets niet zelf opgebouwd maar ik heb hem als een compleet snorfiets gekocht (al met kenteken).

@MaciejDlugosz ja nu moet ik elke 30 km fietsen eerst hoefde ik alleen maar een beetje gas te geven. maar die van mij liep wel iets harder dan een electrische fiets van een oudje (een paar km maar hoor) maar het was wel grappig
