What are your credentials? Your statement on cayenne pepper is incorrect. If you have mucous and need to "open up" you need a vasoconstrictor to hold off the bloodflow and subsequent edema associated in order to decease swelling so that the mucous can escape.... ---Meridith K. RN, MSN, CNL
