I have his book...harry dodson, practical kitchen garden...it reccommends using leaf mould in stead of manure in hot beds...it produces a steadier heat, and you dont need to let it rest before capping...it was commonly used during the war because manure was scarce in those times being used for other things, like getting nutrients into every availale bit of soil for growing veg for the war efforts...
I find this awesome. what a joy to work there and to re-make this bueatiful place. what a shame that it fell apart and with it the story of all the grounds and people .. it has such a life
I remember this very well. It was just about this time we were able to see BBC programmes directly in the Netherlands and this was a favourite of mine straightaway. I'm also really pleased to find the theme tune is still being played.
Brilliant. all the way through, I enjoyed the television series and now ,its on you tube ,I have on ecery day , aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh just class.
