Ewald Kooiman passed away January 25, 2009 while on his vacation in Egypt.

One can imagine that when Debussy wrote the engulfed cathedral that he might have imagined the sort of indistinct and and muffled sound heard here.

I am so sorry to read of the loss of a great musician like Ewald.
Years ago i took a boat down the Nile and was sure that I was dying also.
I don´t know how I made it.

I'm eagerly awaiting the release of this CD set. I have often heard mr. Kooiman play live and I'm always awestruck by the quality and feeling of his interpretation.
Don't keep us waiting for too long!
