This kind of music should touch everybody regardless of age. People keep saying it's a new generation, but Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. The old singers didn't just sang for the youth, they sang for everybody. RIP Consolers

@LadiKi1 May he rest in Peace. They were so cool and I remember listening to their music as a kid when my parents played their records in our home. My best to your family.

Back in the 50's I frist heard this group and fell in love with them. It seems as if music like this keeps me feeling young and gives me hope that that is still a chance for todays young people
My comment got yanked? Weird. Apparently I don't fit into the very exclusive club of people allowed to enjoy this music. I'm sure Christ would delete my comment, too.

@JandritoBlues Greetings? If I have removed your comments they must have been inappropiate for my channel. You seem to be an awesome musican and a lover of all types of music and this channel is for positive comments. I don't remember what you may have posted but I feel I'm a fair person regardless of ones ethnic background and welcome any positive comments or questions.

Just to see this vintage gospel clip of Sulklivan and Iola Pugh :The Consolers" shows just how far we have drifted away from the true essence of Gospel music. I wonder if we'll ever get back there. Let's pray that God sends us another Ropberta Martin, Clara Ward, Dorothy Love Coates, Edna Gallmon Cooke, Joe May, Alex Bradford and the likes of these saints.

I've been broadcasting and playing Gospel since the 60's. I've come to realize, as the seasons change and our bodies change, so does our music. We no longer ride in stagecoaches but now automobiles. The music today is for this generation and ministers to them, perhaps not to us but alas, we have the memories and the music to keep us going.Today's writers are inspired to write about today's situations and how to cope. there are some great compostions today and I try to appreciate all.

@gospellin Sorry but I disagree. Good music is good music and tastes may change but the old stuff will make a come back. Look at Regina Bell's "God is Good" it's new and old and young have embraced that old style song. Plus you can't sing the"new stuff" as easily as the old standards. Nothing is like an old traditional Primitive Baptist metered hymn.

@lesababy I appreciate your comments and views. The bottom line is we're all different and hae different taste. I'm still playing the Roberta Martin Singers, Caravans, Harmonettes, Clouds of Joy and all the pioneers each sunday afternoon on the air. Saturday mornings I play a mixture of todays music. Some of Kirk Franklin's songs, Ricky Dillard, Marvin Sapp and others.I'm blessed by the ministry of Donnie McClurkin, Marvin Sapp, Richard Smallwood and otherws with a great message.I appreciate you
