Penguins GM Craig Patrick was one of the players, as well as former Kings coach Robbie Ftorek, who was a WHA scoring star. the USA didn't have the depth back then , compared to their 1996 World Cup championship team

DRYDEN WAS AT LAW SCHOOL

Neither Howe or Dryden were on the team. Although still productive Howe was 48 and simply not chosen. Dryden was to have been the starting goaltender but had an injury. Bernie Parent was also unavailable. Vachon came in as a late replacement for Dryden and was 3rd on the depth chart, but got on a hot streak and rode it all the way through the entire tournament.

Gordie was on that team eh? dont see much film of him

Why was Gordie Howe not on this team? Even though he was in the WHA, he still could have played. Example: Bobby Hull.

my allstar team lafleur-perrault-hull
orr-lapointe..in all time international team
perrault-harlamov-hull

Gerry Cheevers and Glenn Resch were the two other goaltenders, but I think Vachon played every game of the tournament.
Orr was the best player in the world on one leg.....this was when I lost all respect for Denis Potvin when he cried the blues that he didn't win MVP in the tourny...he said on national TV that he was better than Orr.....well Denis, I'll tell you something......you could NEVER TIE BOBBY'S SKATES YOU JERK!!!
