Dave Cottle's "Power of Gower Big Band" play Gordon Goodwin's arrangement of "Too Close for Comfort". Recorded on 15th December 2010 at Swansea Jazzland Christmas Party. The sound quality is direct from the video camera so not brilliant!
This is Power of Gower's first gig, assembled for this special occasion to play arrangements by Bill Holman, Rob McConnell, Gordon Goodwin, Thad Jones and others. With NO rehearsal time possible, the charts were thrown at the band and off they went! The band is made up of Dave Cottle's Swansea Jazzland house rhythm section along with young musicians from the area who are now based in London, plus some of the best established Welsh jazz musicians from the region and some superb guest soloists.
Trumpets: Noel Langley, Steve Waterman, Gethin Liddington and Nick Mead.
Trombones: Tom White, Sarah Morrow, Rupert Whitehead and Phil Dando.
Saxes: Oliver Nezhati, Simon Allen, Lee Goodall, Joe Northwood and Tom Harris.
Piano: Dave Cottle.
Bass: Alun Vaughan.
Drums: Tom Cottle.
Vocals: Andrea Harrington and Berry Ray.
