bright Jupiter rising in the east in the evening while bright Venus is still visible in the west. Next few weeks Venus will rise higher and higher, get brighter and brighter, and be a prominent "evening star" . It's big showdown between the two brightest planets, and we are in the middle of it to enjoy the show !

  • First you get to see the north pole, now you see Jupiter and Venus clearly in the sky at the same time??

  • @GuyWithBluePoop well Jupiter and Venus are the two brightest planets and anyone with clear skies can see them. More spectacular was the very rare simultaneous occultation of Jupiter and Venus by the Moon, in 1998, which I saw from Ascension I see apod dot nasa dot gov slash apod slash ap980513 dot html

or just google DOUBLE OCCULTATION and do an image search
