I've got a ring-necked dove; he's rather agressive, but likes to do the twitchy dance to me for some reason. He's almost 25 now. Very different from yours.

OMG i know! I used to have a parrot, after she passed, I had an empty cage for about two weeks, went to the pet store with the intention of buying a new parrot, but fell in love with my Casper instead. Hes an albino ringneck. They're SO quiet, and so sweet! I just love how gentle they are, and I love that warbling sound he makes when the sun comes up and goes down. Everything he does makes me smile, I can TOTALLY tell why doves are the bird of peace. He's not going ANYWHERE either. <3

Is that his affectionate coo?
My diamond dove is afraid of my hand. He's been like this since I bought him in December. I've tried playing with him in the bathroom, changed his food and water daily and I even do my homework near him. Seems like these doesn't make an impact on our relationship. Any other tips on taming him? I've also haven't named him yet :(

@doirBravo Diamond doves are too afraid to be petted. I used to own some of them and it was the same, couldn't get near them. If u really want a dove you can pet, you shoud get a ringneck or a dove

From the looks of it, this Ringneck lives alone and claims you as his/her mate. lol...This sory of cooing and wing flipping means she wants to mate with you. ;) Good luck! Tell me how it goes.

Exactly loll I've had him for two years now, and he always claimed me this way. The thing is, I don't want to get him a mate, kuz I don't have time to take care of babies... Him alone, it's ok, I can give him some affection, let him out, etc. But babies require special cares, wich I can't give since I work over 60 hours a week loll ^^
