A song by Irish band the Wolfe Tones about the United Irishmen. Many of the United men were northern Protestants. This a weird quirk of Irish history, considering so many Protestants in the North view Irish Republicanism with distain and deny their Republican heritage.

The protestants at the time thought that by united irishman was to overthrow a ruling class but as they found out in the years that followed it was another roman catholic inspired attempt to change ireland to roman catholism. In the republic of ireland a mixed marriage between a catholic and a presbyterian the catholic church backed by the free state goverment took the children from the protestant mother and give them to the father after there marriage breakup. I just think it's important that people from all communities remember that the United Irish was (were?) founded by Protestants.
98 is so easily dismissed as a Catholic movement.
It was Ireland-wide.
