Mariner-yamaha-30hp part 1 of 2

Mariner 30 hp, about mid 1980s model year not sure. Very nice built motor, its made by Yamaha, theres a tag on it that says made in Japan. The boat is 1973 Mirrocraft aluminum, 16 feet, 6 foot beam. very sturdy boat rated for 50 hp. Pictures here of you care to see what type of hull it is:

@flipstars199 This motor was built by Yamaha. When Mariners were introduced in the US in the late 70s, they were all made by Yamaha (up to 60hp). The larger motors were Mercs painted grey. By the late 80s / early 90s they were all made by Mercury.

nik1333 the newer mariners are made by mercury but the older one like this one is yamaha I have one all the parts inside mine says yamaha on it.

A mariner is an old mercury, not a yamaha.
